We have obtained a Certificate of Lawfulness for use of a building as a dwelling in London, with a shop at the front. This removes a period of uncertainty for our client who had bought the building some years ago and carried out work to the building. The application was submitted to the Council with detailed and comprehensive evidence to prove the lawful situation, and it was approved under delegated powers within 8 weeks.

Large basements in Kensington & Chelsea have been top news for some years; we were involved in some of the very earliest many years ago, setting precedents for interpretation of planning policies in the Borough. As policy tightens up, we were pleased to receive permission for a double basement with swimming pool. We successfully argued why the Council's usual requirement for site coverage and depth of basement should not apply in this instance, and the project was unanimously approved at Committee.
