We were asked to appraise a complex situation relating to a doctors' surgery in New Malden, Surrey. There had been many planning permissions over the years as the premises had extended and changed, and a number of complicated and restrictive planning conditions had been attached. The client, who owned the property, wanted to have an unencumbered building as it was to become vacant and new tenants sought. We submitted a number of applications to remove the conditions, with justification as to why the conditions were no longer suitable. The applications were approved under delegated powers, and the client now has a building that is free from those former restrictions.
