Planning permission has been granted for the replacement of an existing property set between Victorian cottages in a conservation area. The case raised issues of design, effect on neighbours, contamination, flooding and also the principle of the change due to a previous commercial use of the building, whose loss was potentially contrary to the Council's policies on protection of employment. We co-ordinated a team of consultants and provided an appraisal of planning policies, with the application being approved under delegated powers.
