We have recently won an appeal for the extension and conversion of a property near Twickenham Stadium to provide new flats. The Council had refused permission on the grounds of inappropriate design, but we successfully argued that the scheme would reflect the character of the area.
The appeal was also allowed without any affordable housing contribution, parking restrictions or a multitude of other conditions that the Council had sought to impose on the developer; we successfully argued why such requests were not reasonable in this instance. Client: private developer

A small project, but valuable for the client. Change of use of premises to residential had been granted by the Council, but with the requirement that future occupants could not have an on-street parking permit. We demonstrated why that restriction should not be imposed, and the planning conditions were removed. This achieved an increase in value for the new property.
Client: private developer Planning permission has been granted for a large extension to a house within the Green Belt, near Guildford in Surrey. A pre-application submission from the householder had resisted the key parts of the extension, and so we were engaged to present a case for the client's desired plans. We recommended some alterations to the scheme and then undertook an appraisal of the area and planning policy, with the result that planning permission was granted at local level under delegated powers.
