After much negotiation with the Council, we were very pleased to achieve permission for extensive works to a very substantial house overlooking Wimbledon Common. The property had been neglected for some years and the scheme sees a new raised roof, new basement, side extension, a contemporary rear extension, swimming pool and staff cottage. A large professional team was involved to demonstrate no harm to trees, the historic building, structural matters and the landscape setting. The application was approved under delegated powers, with support from neighbours.

We were delighted to have achieved planning permission and listed building consent for a new private school for girls up to the age of 11, in the centre of Hampton Hill. The building was a vacant bank, which was formerly houses and listed. The scheme will see extensive works within the building and a new extension to the rear for a hall.
The project gave rise to issues of employment impact, effect on community infrastructure, design, heritage issues and transport. We advised on all these matters, along with a specialist highways consultant. The application was approved unanimously by the Planning Committee and received widespread support from the local community and traders. This is the second school in the Hampton area for which we have successfully secured permission. Client: Jack and Jill School |
