A few years ago we helped with securing planning permission and listed building consent to convert a former mews house into an art gallery. The case involved research into the history of the property and explaining how the new use would benefit the area and the building itself. We were pleased to recently see the art gallery successfully operating from the building.

We assisted a wider professional team in drawing up proposals for works to a listed gallery, close to Mount Street in the heart of Mayfair. The property had a number of uses over the years, including a car showroom, offices, storage and the art gallery. We undertook research and prepared a Statement to examine the proposed changes to the heritage asset. Planning permission and listed building consent were granted under delegated powers.
Client: Grosvenor Estates Permission has been granted for a replacement shopfront to a property in a conservation area, in central London. The work will see an enhancement to the appearance of what was a rather tired looking building.
Client: private landlord We provided advice regarding the conversion of a dilapidated commercial building just off Oxford Street. Our advice looked at the heritage issues for the works to the building, and the change to a mix of commercial and residential uses. The work is now complete, and the ground floor occupied by The New Craftsmen gallery and shop.
Client: Grosvenor Estate The Grosvenor Estate have published their review of completed projects for 2017, and once again we were pleased to see a number of our cases included in the annual publication. This included the project at Bourdon Street, where we provided heritage advice relating to the conversion of a former mews/stables to commercial space and two flats above.
Client: Grosvenor Estate London Looking sparkling in the Spring sunshine, we were pleased to see the completion of a roof extension to a mixed commercial and residential property on Fulham Road, Chelsea.
The Council had refused planning permission for the extension on the grounds of design, for this prominent corner site adjoining a conservation area. We successfully argued at appeal that the design was more suited for the building and context than the 'traditional' scheme the Council preferred. The Inspector agreed that there should always be a place the zinc finish would be suitable. Client: private developer Permission has been granted for the change of use of a commercial building in the centre of Cobham, Surrey, to become a yoga studio. The case raised issues of highway safety, parking and potential noise. The level of employment and the effect on the conservation area were added factors. Planning permission was granted by the Council under delegated powers.
Client: Cobham Yoga Planning permission has been granted for the change of use of premises within a conservation area, to become a fish & chip, and pizza takeaway. The client is expanding their business into the local area and this new outlet will soon be popular in the town.
